Position Overview
House On Fire is seeking a skilled and creative Digital Marketing Specialist to join the team behind its vibrant arts projects (MTN Bushfire festival, Standard Bank Luju Food & Lifestyle Festival, CollaboNation) and series of year-round arts programmes.
The ideal candidate will leverage their experience with digital platforms to enhance visibility on House On Fire’s the social and environmental mandate, engaging with its international online community and sharing key messaging with compelling creativity.
Working with a supportive and highly motivated team in a fast-paced environment, the Digital Marketing Specialist will play a pivotal role in conceptualising and successfully implementing digital strategies that amplify House On Fire’s identity and impact across digital platforms.
Key Responsibilities:Â Â Â
- Digital Strategy Development: Collaborate with the internal team to develop and implement comprehensive multi-channel digital marketing strategies that support marketing priorities, align with digital best practices and capitalise on relevant digital trends.
- Content Strategy & Planning: Create and adhere to monthly digital content plans to support visibility on campaigns and events.
- Social Media Management: Manage the festival’s social media profiles, ensuring consistent messaging, timely updates, interactive content and captivating visual storytelling through images and videos.
- Copywriting: Strong writing skills that clearly convey key messaging and calls to action.
- Community Management: Segment and reach audiences according to pre-defined territorial focuses. Maintain creative and timely responses to online communities, as well as prompt attention to queries.
- Website Management: Ensure the festival’s website is updated with accurate and relevant content, collaborating with web developers to implement improvements and monitor website analytics to optimise user experience.
- Email Marketing: Plan and execute email marketing campaigns to promote the festival, manage email lists, segment audiences, and analyse campaign performance.
- Analytics and Reporting: Utilise analytics tools to track and measure the success of digital campaigns, generating regular reports on key performance indicators and providing insights for continuous improvement.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Translate event and activation concepts into dynamic digital content, maintain relationships with internal teams and honour partner & sponsor deliverables through strong collaborative engagements.
- Archiving: Maintain a strong archiving system for all content and creative assets.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Digital Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in digital marketing or a similar role.
- Proficiency in digital marketing tools, social media platforms, and content management systems.
- Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
