The #BRINGYOURFIRE mandate guides the festival’s conscious and continuous efforts to challenge discrimination based on race, gender, sexuality and religion, while encouraging an environmentally sustainable lifestyle.

Energising this call to action, MTN Bushfire resolutely uses its creative platforms to engage with a range of social issues, through the festival’s carefully curated programme streams, zones and activations.

#BRINGYOURFIRE finds its strongest expression in the Bring Your Fire Zone, a festival space dedicated to creative advocacy where artists, activists, visionaries, volunteers and socially-attuned organisations come together, lending their voices, talents, skills and resources to this inclusive vision.

Artists, community-based organizations, NGOs and IGOs are all invited to Bring Your Fire, advocate, and activate in The Bring Your Fire Zone! Current themes and focuses include the following: Minority Rights & Gender Diversity, Environmental Sustainability, Education, Sexual and Reproductive Health, Sustainable Development, Equality & Empowerment, Entrepreneurship, Child Social Protection Organisations that have previously activated in this space include UNICEF,COSPE, The Peace Corps, STEM, Greenpeace, Conservation Music and Condomize!
