It’s time to get ready for MTN Bushfire 2022! This year we celebrate gathering once again and Reigniting The Fire in the beautiful, peaceful Malkerns Valley in Eswatini, for an energizing three-day weekend from 27th – 29th May!
Here’s a quick guide to some of the things you need to know for the festival:
MTN Bushfire is a multi-dimensional festival with many exciting experiences! Please explore the festival, and discover the many strands of the wholesome and family-friendly tapestry made up by the Global Food Village, Barn Marketplace, Bring Your Fire Zone, KidZone and more!
Please note tickets will NOT be sold at the gate.
Covid-19 Safety:
Covid-19 is still with us, so please bring your most colourful masks and wear them when moving around the grounds. Please make use of the numerous sanitizer points and heed the guidance of the Covid Safety Marshals – they’re here to remind us to keep ourselves and ithers safe.
Make sure to bring valid proof of vaccination against Covid-19 so as to gain entry to the festival grounds; a valid ticket alone will not be enough. All festivalgoers over the age of 18 are required to provide proof of vaccination against Covid-19 to gain entry to the festival. Festivalgoers aged 12-17 must provide proof of vaccination if available in their country of origin; otherwise a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours of entering the country will be required (for Eswatini, proof of vaccination is required from ages 12+). Children under 12 do not need to provide proof of vaccination or a negative PCR test.
Entering the country:
The official Eswatini Tourism Authority website has all the necessary information on entry requirements, so check it out: https://www.thekingdomofeswatini.com
Getting to the festival
The festival venue, House On Fire, is located between Mahlanya and Malkerns on the MR27 road, off the MR103, about 23km from the capital city, Mbabane, and a short 14km from Ezulwini.

With thousands of people attending the festival, many of them coming from outside Eswatini, the borders can be heavy with traffic. We strongly advise planning your trip to arrive the day before, or at least early in the day, to avoid long waits at Immigration.
Please note that many of the smaller border posts have been closed to limit the spread of the Covid-19 virus.

Park n’ Ride
To assist in ensuring festival guests stay safe on the roads during the festival weekend, MTN Bushfire has partnered with TOTAL Energies and the Sincephetelo MVA Fund to provide the Park n’ Ride service that allows fans to take a shuttle and travel between selected central destinations and the festival. Not only does this help to decrease the levels of drinking and driving, it also helps to limit traffic congestion on the roads leading to MTN Bushfire, and lessens the impact of carbon emissions. Check out and download the schedule from our website!
Reminder:
Festivalgoers are reminded that they are not allowed to bring alcohol, food or cooler boxes into the festival arena.
