MTN BUSHFIRE ENCOURAGES “LIFT CLUBS” AND SAFETY THROUGH SANCTIONED TAXI SERVICE
To ensure the safety and convenience of this year’s MTN Bushfire attendees, the festival’s organizers are providing sanctioned late night/early morning taxi service, easily accessible at the venue’s entrances. According to event founder/director Jiggs Thorne, “We want people to have a great time and to not have to worry about how they are going to get home if they’ve been drinking. The well-being of our guests is of paramount importance to us.” As such, in addition to available transport, the festival parking lots will have 24 hour guards, enabling revelers to feel secure in leaving cars overnight.
Further, for those who are self-driving, MTN Bushfire is encouraging the sharing of rides through “lift clubs” in consideration of the environment and to limit gridlock and parking hassles. “As a socially and ecologially responsible event, our intention is to embrace and promote green thinking,” Thorne says.
